This group includes church members as well as community and ecumenical partners who are organizing around justice issues in Rensselaer County, in New York State, and across our country.

Our largest and most active group at First United is the Social Justice & Mission Team!

Food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness

Welcoming immigrants to the capital region

Racial Justice

Troy Police Reform

Voting Rights

Environmental Justice

LGTBQ+ Rights and protecting trans futures

Our community tithes approximately 10% of our annual budget to support non-profits that are doing transformative work in our region, and the Social Justice & Mission Team does the important task of redistributing our resources by disbursing grants to our mission partners. The Social Justice & Mission Team meets monthly to share information about justice concerns, and organizes events throughout the year.
