Sanctuary Spill-Out
Sunday, May 2
On the Fifth Sunday of Easter, First United members and friends of all ages are invited to gather at 10 a.m. for a 45- minute service of worship from which we will ‘spill out’ of the church building into the community in the spirit of the Scripture text for the day: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another” as participants in a very special day of service along with two other downtown congregations – Christ Church, United Methodist at Fifth Avenue and State Street and Congregation Berith Sholom at 3rd and Division Sts.
Projects in which we will participate include painting and landscaping at Troy Area United Ministries in south Troy, walking in the Rensselaer County CROP Walk, making May baskets with residents at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, washing windows at two ARC sites, and more. All are welcome! Come as you are and be part of this experience of faith in action!
I enjoy being a member of the First United Presbyterian Church congregation
Written by pegsmith on January 15th, 2010I enjoy being a member of the First United Presbyterian Church congregation. I enjoy our worship as well as our work parties — and off-the-wall discussions about the Bible and what it means in our lives TODAY. Anyone have any challenges today?
