During the 2009-10 program year,  senior high youth at First United are participating in confirmation classes.  The Confirmation series includes Bible study and discussion, preparation of a statement of faith, and visits to other faith communities as well as a variety of mission projects and social activities.

First United youth also have the opportunity to participate in Albany Presbytery youth activities which this year will include a Martin Luther King Weekend Retreat at Hebron Center January 15 - 17, 2010,   a visit to the Presbyterian United Nations Office in New York City in mid-February to study and learn about the global victimization of children, and the chance to to gather with youth from throughout the United States at Purdue University from July 20 - 24, 2010 for the Presbyterian Youth Triennium.

First United youth will take part again this year in the Souper Bowl of Caring, and have partnered with youth and adults from other congregations to go on the Midnight Run, a van ministry to homeless men and women living on the streets of New York City.
